Scouts 10.5 – 14yrs

camp Scouting has given me a fantastic opportunity to do lots of activities and things that people who are not in Scouts don’t get to do. It’s about having fun with good friends.’

Scouts in Ilford East get the chance to take part in a variety of outdoor activities such as Canoeing, Kayaking, Climbing, Camping, Fire Lighting and Many More. They are tested on their abilities across a wide range of skills with competitions seeing them do first aid, building bridges, flagpolesurvival exercises, incident hikes. They are challenged across a diverse range of skills, from cyclo crosses to camping competitions.

Scouts are boys and girls aged between 10 and 14 years who want to make friends and develop their widening interests in ways that are both educational and fun.

Scouts meet as a Troop under the guidance of trained adult leaders. Each Troop consists of several Patrols, units of six to eight Scouts. The patrol system gives Scouts the chance to show responsibility and initiative.

stileScout activities are about action and involvement and include camping, hiking, rock climbing, gliding, sailing, pioneering, canoeing, electronics – the list is endless.

Also an important part of Scout training is community involvement and taking part in local conservation schemes.
